Windows XP Professional is the new standard for Operating System at CCAC.  (We have already moved to Office XP as the standard for the Office Suite software).  Windows XP is the operating system which allows you to access all the software on your PC using a graphical, point-and-click environment.

Windows XP will be deployed on all office PC's across the College during the Spring 2004 semester.  All computer classrooms and some faculty offices are already configured with Windows XP.

This web page provides a preview of some of the changes from Windows 2000 to XP.

Need Help?

The Windows XP Operating System includes the functionality called Remote Assistance, whereby the ITS Help Desk and Field Technicians can be invited by the user to see the user's desktop for the purpose of assisting you with technical problems that you are experiencing.  Click here to find out more about this process.

Still Don't Like the new Look?

We do encourage you to use the new version for several weeks to "give it a chance".  If you still really don't like the new look, you can set Windows XP to look like Windows 2000 by setting it back to "Classic View".  Click here to find out more about this process.
